Mosque joins green initiative

THE Global Environment Centre (GEC) and Masjid Al-Muttaqin Wangsa Maju have launched a joint programme to encourage people to use less plastic in an effort to save the environment as part of the River of Life Community Outreach Programme.

“We give out a free reusable bag and plastic container to visitors in the Ramadan bazaar and encourage them to use it instead of the polystyrene containers and plastic bags that are used by the traders,” programme director Chan Kok Yeng said.
