KUCHING: A Malay landowner can look forward to celebrating Hari Raya after the Court of Appeal affirmed that he had native customary rights (NCR) over land based on the community’s customs or adat.

The majority decision was handed down on Monday by a three-judge panel compri-sing Datuk Abdul Wahab Patail, Datuk Balia Yusof Wahi and Datuk Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat in dismissing an appeal by the Kuching division land and survey superintendent and the state government against a High Court decision in favour of Mohamad Rambli Kawi in 2010.
