MIRI: Members of the public have been warned about “free gift” scams being cooked up by some retail outlets and direct selling companies.
These scams, which have resulted in some people losing hefty amounts of money without them even realising it until it is too late, have been detected here, according to the local office of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.
