New cracks worrying residents

According to Selayang MP William Leong, who visited the landslide area yesterday morning, it was not sufficient to have an independent consultant directing the remedial works for the landslide area. But also that the contractor follow the work instructions exactly, as it was due to the contractor digging too deeply which resulted in the new soil movements, said Leong.

DESPITE remedial efforts such as sheet-piling and attempts to build a retention wall for the landslide site in Jalan Empat, Taman Selayang Baru, new cracks have appeared in a double-storey property located next to the site.

Resident Ismail Mohd Ramly and his wife Farah Mohd Noh said the cracks had appeared at about noon on Thursday.
