Build bicycle lanes, SMC urged

SIBU: A town planner based in Hong Kong has urged the Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) to go ahead with its proposal to build bicycle lanes so as to promote a healthier environment when people cycle instead of drive.

Chen Yun Chung (pic), who hails from here but lives in Hong Kong where he also lectures at the Hong Kong Baptist University, said SMC should go ahead with the project and not allow it to die off just because its initiator, former councillor Robert Lau Hui Yew, had left SMC.
