MIRI: The culprits behind the seige of a Singapore-registered oil tanker in the South China Sea 78 nautical miles offshore Bintulu on Saturday are believed to be locals, not foreign pirates.
Police are investigating this possibility even as the maritime authorities investigate the case from the Maritime Centre in Labuan.
