Ideas to make the man of the house happy.
JUNE 15 is Fathers Day and most people will agree that buying a gift for the man of the house and men in general is usually more challenging — no make-up and jewellery, that’s for sure!Bearing in mind that most men appreciate practical items, Metro Online Broadcast (mob.com.my) shares some gift ideas for this significant day.
Thermal mug – If the family breadwinner does not already have one, a thermal mug is a great gift for hardworking dads. He’ll always think of you when getting his caffeine fix at the office.
Travel pouch – Year-end family vacation time is not too far away, and a gift like this is great for the man of the house as he will usually be responsible for keeping the family’s passports and money safe. There are many styles available at affordable prices.
Electric shaver – For fathers whose morning routine requires shaving cream, this handy device will save them some hassle. More elaborate models can be pricey, but a simple one should suffice.
Kitchen knife – Taboos aside, a knife actually makes a practical gift if your father loves to cook. A quality knife (or a set of knives) is especially great for dads who are skilled in preparing steaks and other meat dishes on occasion.
Multi-tool – You may not be able to afford a Swiss army knife, but a multi-tool is a gift that any man will find useful to have by his side — for working on small repairs around the house.
Car phone holders – This useful accessory can be mounted on your windscreen or dashboard to hold your phone while you drive.
Sports armband – For the Dad who wants to keep fit, getting him a sports armband may give him motivation to stick to his workout routine. Whether he is a gym junkie or one who likes to take brisk walks, he can listen to his favourite music while on the move.
Golf vouchers – Not all fathers play golf, but treating them to a day on the green is a great way to let off steam.
Spa vouchers – Some men do not realise what a difference a spa treatment will make until they have actually gone for one. Get your father some spa vouchers so he can forget his worries for a day or two.
Book vouchers – Some men like to unwind by reading a good book. If your father is in that category, gift him with some vouchers from a bookstore so he can stock up on tomes from his favourite authors.
