Surging demand in China, India forces M'sia spends more on live cattle import


KUCHING: Malaysia is spending more to import live cattle because cheaper exports are going to China and India, where demand is higher.

Thailand and Myanmar were once major sources of this country’s live cattle imports, particularly to Peninsular Malaysia, but in recent years, the movement of cattle has been to China, due to huge demand for beef in the populous country.
