Protected species: The Murai Batu is one of the birds that successful licence holders can hunt.
FANS of wild birds in Perak can start applying for licences to hunt for the murai batu (white-rumped shama) and kelicap kunyit (oriental white eye) protected species.
Perak Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department director Fakhrul Hatta Musa, however, said only 150 licences for each species would be made available.
