Five NGOs receive funds meant for winners of cancelled women's marathon

THE RM15,000 prize money for the Malaysia Women Marathon (MWM) 2014 has been donated to five non-governmental organisations because the event was not completed as planned in March because of the haze.

Some good came from the bad air quality conditions that plagued the competitive marathon held in Shah Alam, as the prize money was donated recently to the All Women’s Action Society (Awam), Society of the Blind Malaysia (SBM), Single Mothers Association Semarak Kasih Selangor, Single Mothers Kota Damansara (Ibu Tunggal Dun Kota Damansara) and the Darul Wardah charitable body.
