Ice-Watch melts hearts

THE Habib Group opened its first Belgian Ice-Watch Gallery in Ampang Point, Kuala Lumpur, officially making them the sole Malaysian distributor of the brand.

The new stand-alone gallery carries selections from all of the brand’s collections and will be featuring the soon-to-be launched Forever Collection which features several new trendy colours.

Habib group managing director Datuk Meer Habib launched the gallery with the help of local celebrities Ella, Farah Fauzana, Yasmin Hani, Sha’arin Razali, and Kaseh Azri, daughter of actress Zila Bakarin.

Launched in 2007, Ice-Watch has become one of the leading brands in fashion watches.

The funky timepiece has been a hit with both sexes from various age groups and has been spotted on the wrists of Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez, Avril Lavigne, Audrina Patridge and David Guetta in his music video Where Them Girls At.

In line with its concept “Change. You Can”, the bold colours and affordable prices (ranging from RM200 to RM1,000) enable fans to purchase several types to suit their mood, apparel and occasion.

Ice-Watch has also produced several ranges in collaboration with global leading brands such as Swarovski and BMW.

“We are very excited about being the new name behind Ice-Watch in Malaysia. The brand has grown tremendously around the world and while it has been available in Malaysia to a small degree, we expect to make a bold statement with Ice-Watch in the coming years,” said Meer Habib.

Already making waves with other international partner brands, Pandora and Hearts On Fire, Habib has expanded from its jewellery business.

“Most people know Habib for our jewellery but we are open to bringing in other lifestyle brands. Pandora has been a huge success and now we are glad to have something to offer the guys too,” said Meer Habib.

“Many young and young-at-heart find this brand irresistible as it’s fun, a great fashion accessory and best of all, easy on the budget. It has tremendous appeal and we’re set to take it to the next level in Malaysia,” he said.

Habib has extensive plans for this new venture with the second Ice-Watch gallery to open in Curve this weekend and a target of 10 stores by year-end, including one in Gurney Paragon, Penang and another in JBCC Mall, Johor Baru.
