State DAP chairman hits back at power giant over tariffs

KUCHING: State DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen has hit back at Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) over its defence of power tariffs, calling it an attempt to divert the issues brought up in the party’s “Fairer Electricity Policy” signature campaign.

The Bandar Kuching MP reiterated that the campaign sought to lower electricity tariffs by 30%, reduce power outages by ensuring regular maintenance of the transmission and distribution network and stop SEB’s employment of expatriates at high salaries.
