THE relaunch of The Star media group’s Bahasa Malaysia portal, mStar Online, was a glittering affair with VIPs and celebrities in attendance.
The event’s theme, “Summer Chic,” fits perfectly with the site’s fresher, breezier look.
During the launch, Star Publications (M) Bhd group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai said mStar Online had come a long way since it kicked off eight years ago and it had already attracted more than 400,000 unique visitors since the new look was introduced on March 9.
The new look will still focus on entertainment, which has been the site’s most popular feature, but will also offer current, business and sports news.
“This is a new start for mStar Online. It is now more attractive, vibrant, colourful and easier to navigate,” mStar Online executive editor Rozaid A. Rahman said.
He added that although some readers wanted the website to stick to its old layout, there had been encouraging feedback on the new look, theme Meraikan Aspirasi Dunia Maya (Celebrating the Aspiration of the Virtual World).
More than 300 guests were present at the launch of the new look, including Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek.
Other guests included Siti Saleha, Afiq Muiz, Nelydia dan Uqasha Senrose, Fouziah Gous, Atilia Haron, Raja Azmi, Natasha Hudson, Bella Dally, Ning Baizura, Dynas Mokhtar, Fazli Zainal, Faezah Elai, Hans Isaac, Nurul Wahab, Asfan, Kilafairy dan Josiah Hogan.
During the event, guests were entertained by Anuar Zain, Alyah and Akademi Fantasia star, Riz.
