Two sisters reminisce about growing up in the area now known as Asian Heritage Row

It was as though the busy tarred roads were crumbling into gravel roads where kids roamed, the flood of neon lights receded as luscious hedges grew, and glitzy signage faded into a row of windows through which cheerful neighbours greeted each other.

That was the scene conjured when two sisters, Leong Ming Chong and Ming Chee, reminisced about their growing-up years in Jalan Doraisamy.
