KUCHING: Research universities in the country are overemphasising research at the expense of effective teaching, said an academic.
Prof Rose Alinda Alias, who is deputy vice-chancellor for Academic and Internationalisation at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), said knowledge on paper was useless when not practised.
