KUCHING: Social Development Minister Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom has called for better fire prevention measures for longhouses in the state.
He said with an estimated 5,000 longhouses scattered throughout rural Sarawak, and most of which are not readily reached by fire-fighters, the least that should be done was to supply them with fire extinguishers.
