Disaster drill to evaluate hospital's efficiency


Firefighters using a stretcher to carry off the 'victims' who were trapped in a room that had caught on fire during the Disaster drill that was held at Island Hospital, Penang.

SEVERAL patients and staff members of the Penang Island Hospital were lying motionless on the ground while others suffered burns and two of them died when there was a ‘gas leak’, followed by a ‘fire’ and an ‘explosion’ at the hospital on Penang island.

Doctors, nurses and hospital attendants rushed to the aid of those injured and tried to evacuate other patients inside the hospital building.
