THE LAUNCH of Limbang Rebellion: 7 Days in December 1962 by Australian High Commissioner Rod Smith at Badan Warisan Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur last weekend was an emotional reunion for representatives of two families.

Author Dr Eileen Chanin is the daughter-in-law of Australian Richard Morris, British Resident of Sarawak’s Fifth Division. Morris and his wife Dorothy, were taken hostage by the North Kalimantan National Army (TNKU), the armed wing of the Brunei People’s Party during the uprising on Dec 8, 1962.
