Go back in time: One of the life-size animatronic dinosaurs used in the show.
Experience the Mesozoic Era as Dinoscovery by Dinosaurs Live! opens to the public at Discoveria, Avenue K today.
Featuring re-engineered life-size animatronic dinosaurs in true-to-life adventure-like settings, the year-long interactive exhibition will be held in a sprawling newly-constructed 13,000 sq ft exhibition space.
Aimed at children three years and older, Dinoscovery by Dinosaurs Live! invites visitors to travel back in time and uncover the wonders of hands-on learning through 15 experiential and highly interactive educational activities.
EMS Holdings Pte Ltd chairman Datuk Jared Lim said: “We are proud to bring Dinoscovery by Dinosaurs Live! and believe it will prove to be a fun and stimulating educational experience.”
The exhibition’s star attractions include the Dino Quest, a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)- based scavenger hunt that will propel visitors through a time warp and transform them into paleontologists on the hunt for dinosaurs and specimens.
Visitors will be equipped with a map and a RFID band which will guide them to exciting discoveries. Upon completion of each activity, visitors will collect stickers to stick on to the map and to enable them to redeem a Junior or Expert Paleontologist certificate from the Dinoscovery Captain at the end of the tour.
“Visitors will be able to see larger-than-life dinosaurs move and hear them roar in their habitat.
“Apart from that, the exhibition also provides visitors the chance to watch a short dinosaur documentary in 3D cinema,” said Lim.
Other activities include the opportunity to save dinosaurs by shooting pests, excavating for fossils, climbing a wall to have a glimpse of a prehistoric bird’s nest, challenging a Velociraptor in an interactive race and posing for pictures with dinosaurs in three settings.
The exhibition also gives visitors a chance to learn about the evolution of dinosaurs through interactive kiosks and compare present-day animals such as chickens and elephants with dinosaurs such as Theropod and Sauropod.
Dinoscovery by Dinosaurs Live! is supported by Malaysia Major Events, a division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, an agency under the Tourism and Culture Ministry.
Visitors who purchase Dinoscovery tickets from today to March 28 will be entitled to a special RM5 rebate.
Tickets for children 17 years and below are priced at RM35 for Malaysians and RM50 for non-Malaysians while adults will pay RM25 (Malaysians) and RM40 (non-Malaysians).
Opening hours are 10am to 10pm daily including school and public holidays with last admission at 9pm.
