A FRIENDLY match between the national women’s basketball team and a men’s team, which included two Barisan Nasional youth leaders, provided a break from the intense campaigning in Kajang.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon showed off their skills during a five-on-five game at Taman Setia, Sungai Chua on Tuesday night.

However, they proved to be no match for the women who defeated their team with a score of 59-53.

Before the game, Khairy, in his speech, joked, “Tonight, we shall see men being defeated by women. So let’s not waste any more time and play.”

Chong said he decided to hold the match to engage the youth in Kajang and had originally wanted to invite the national men’s team but they were unavailable.

“It was challenging playing with the women, especially since I am more into badminton,” he said.
