Taiping-born model Hilyah Amirah, 26, is now a resident in Cheras.
The accounting graduate said she had been modelling for two years now and had appeared in a number of magazines.
Speaking about the F1, she said this would be her third year as a Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix grid girl.
“I enjoy this event as it is a good platform to gain new contacts,” she said.
When not modelling, she can be seen acting in Malay dramas.
“I have acted in a few local Malay dramas such as Sebenarnya Saya Isteri Dia and Telemovie Homestay Maya,” she said.
Hilyah said she enjoyed acting as it allowed her to be a different person.
When not busy modelling and acting, she usually has her head buried in books.
She calls herself an introvert who enjoys a small group of friends rather than a big group of acquaintances.
“I am a shy person and one can usually find me in a corner with my novels,” she said, adding that it took her sometime to cosy up to new people.
In the future, she hopes to venture into the broadcasting world.
