Johor rues lost chance to up cost of raw water to Singapore

JOHOR BARU: Johor lost more than RM400mil in water revenue because the Government did not take up Singapore’s offer to revise the raw water supplied to the republic from three sen to 45 sen per 1,000 gallons (4,546 litres) about 13 years ago.

It is learnt that Singapore, at that time, proposed to increase the rates but then prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed had, instead, proposed 60 sen.
