Council to look into helping non-Muslim divorced women and their children


KUCHING: The Sarawak Family and Women Council will look into several recommendations to improve the lot of non-Muslim divorced women and their children with regard to maintenance orders and payment.

These include setting up a fund to assist divorced women, reviewing the provisions on maintenance in the Adat Iban and extending the Married Women and Children (Enforcement of Maintenance) Act to the state.
