MIRI: Police are to step up security by extending the operation of the Motorcycle Patrol Unit (MPU) to five areas identified to have the need for frequent crime-prevention patrols.
State deputy police commissioner SAC Datuk Law Hong Soon said the five areas — Kuching, Padawan, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri — would soon be equipped with a 17-member MPU, one of them a senior officer.
