Hottest ice cream in town

EIGHT seconds is all that is needed to enjoy fried ice cream at home with Nestlé’s latest product called Nestlé Aiskrim Goreng.

“We have received great response from customers since we launched the product in January,” said Nestlé consumer marketing manager ice cream April Wong.

“The idea came during visits to night markets, where we saw a demand for fried ice cream.

“We also noticed that housewives are creating similar treats at home, using bread and ice cream.

“So we thought, why not bring this convenience to more people?”

Nestlé is the largest ice cream manufacturer in Malaysia and seems a natural choice to produce the innovative product.

Nestlé Aiskrim Goreng was well-received among the crowd that queued up during a live demo and tasting session at Menara Star in Petaling Jaya last week.

Wong said Nestlé is planning to introduce new flavours to complement the existing
vanilla and chocolate flavours.

“It is creamy and tastes good. I’m an ice cream lover, so I hope more flavours such as banana will be included,” said Star Publications (M) Bhd clerical assistant Daniel Gajen.

“I don’t mind that only two flavours are available, as I love both. I’m sure Nestlé will add more flavours that are popular among locals such as durian,” said journalist Nadine Fernandez.

A box of Nestlé Aiskrim Goreng which contains six pieces is being sold at a promotional price of RM9.90 (normal retail price RM10.50) until next month at all leading hypermarkets and supermarkets nationwide.

It will be available in Sabah and Sarawak by the end of February.
