PJ New Town erupts in festivity

Dancers from Chempaka Buddhist Lodge peform in one of the last items for the council-organised celebrations at Jalan Tengah on Feb 9.

THE small road of Jalan Tengah, smack in the middle of PJ New Town’s business area, was a scene of festivity and merriment as the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) held its annual Chinese New Year celebrations on Sunday night.

Even before 8pm, attendees of all ages and races were already lining up to register at the council-erected pavilions near the newly-built mini-stage next to Menara MBPJ, where most of the night’s performances was held.
