WELD Quay in Penang took on a carnival-like atmosphere as the Hokkien community converged on the Chew Jetty there to pay their annual homage to the Thnee Kong (Jade Emperor).
The crowd started to swell from 8pm on the eve of the Jade Emperor’s birthday for the grand occasion which has been a tradition at the clan jetty for 106 years.
