A STORY that I love to tell during my seminars concerns an elderly widow who transferred her house to her only son after he got married. I understand from my grandmother, who told me about this incident (which happened over 30 years ago), that the son passed away just within a year of the marriage, leaving the house to his wife under his will.
What happened thereafter was tragic but not altogether unexpected. The daughter-in-law duly evicted her mother-in-law from the house — the very one that the latter once owned.
