HOTEL Maya Kuala Lumpur held its annual staff dinner and dance recently at the ballroom in appreciation of its employees’ hard work and effort throughout 2013.
A Malaysia cultural carnival-like atmosphere filled the air as employees came dressed according to the theme.
The event started with the annual dinner and dance 2013 organising committee
chairman Eva Ng (human resource department), giving a welcome speech followed by an appreciation speech by Hotel Maya’s general manager Danny Goh.
The opening gambit was a colourful Malaysian cultural dance which was in keeping with the theme of the night.
Employees were treated to an international buffet spread which included sumptuous dishes sich as Nasi Biryani Ayam, Rendang Ayam, Wok Fried Scallop with Bell Pepper, Western Whole Lamb, Roasted Chicken and Japanese Tempura Seafood.
They were also spoilt for choice when it came to desserts, with an assortment of international cakes, pastries, sliced fruits and mini Haagen Dazs ice cream cups.
Throughout the night, emcee Oliver Kwan had the crowd in stitches with his natural flair and jokes.
Several awards were presented to deserving employees, including Employee of the Year, Best Departmental Performance, Best Dressed (Male & Female), 10 Years Long Service Award and 15 Years Long Service Award.
Two loyal employees were presented with the 15 Years Long Service Award, where each received an appreciation certificate and an iPad Mini wifi 16GB with retina display.
There was a gift for each and every employee of the hotel.
The much-anticipated lucky draw saw many attractive prizes being given away, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, a 39” LED TV, iPad Mini, iPod music cube and overseas hotel stay vouchers.
The main prize of RM3,000 was won by Mohamad Rahimi Rem Abdullah from the hotel’s Security Department.
Each of the 211 employees also received an exclusive Hotel Maya backpack.
After all the results were announced and prizes given away, the Hotel Maya
employees stayed on to party the night away.
