KUCHING: A longboat with 27 people on board on its way back from a wedding in a rural village sank in Sungai Besar, in the Mukah division. Six people have been confirmed drowned. Rescuers are searching for five more bodies while 16 passengers were rescued in the river mishap yesterday.
It is unclear at press time how the tragedy occurred, with conflicting information being passed on.
