Federation to hold blood donation drive this Tuesday

KUCHING: The Federation of Kuching and Samarahan Divisions Chinese Associations Youth Section Sarawak will organise a blood donation campaign this Tuesday from 9:30am to 2:30pm at Plaza Merdeka here.

Supported by the city’s chapter of Malaysia Red Crescent (MRC), the drive is conducted in response to the call by Sarawak General Hospital for more supply at its blood bank, as well as to create awareness among the general public of the noble deed of saving lives through blood donation.

“We are appealing to those who have read or come to know about the news to spread it to their friends and relatives. We urge those who intend to donate their blood to come early to the drive,” the organisers said in a statement yesterday.

The federation also extends its gratitude to all sponsors for their generous support such as Lee Onn Group of Companies, Yung Kong Group, Torng Meei Import & Export Trading Co and Carlsberg Marketing Snd Bhd.

“Successful donors that day will walk away with goodies courtesy of A. Clouet & Co (KL) Sdn Bhd (Ayam Brand), Syarikat Kion Hoong Cooking Oil Mills Sdn Bhd, Supreme Food Supply (M) Sdn Bhd, Wide Way Enterprise and K.E.K Trading (Kuching) Co Sdn Bhd, as tokens of appreciation,” it said, adding that any enquiry could be forwarded to Lim Horng Jern via 012-888 8195.
