Malaysians get to enjoy a richer pan pizza

PAN pizza lovers can now look forward to their favourite pizza done the way they like it at Domino’s restaurants nationwide. The pizza brand has introduced the Pan Pizza variety for the first time to Malaysians after being in the local market for 16 years.

“We are very excited to offer freshly prepared Pan Pizza as we believe this is what our customers and pan pizza lovers have been waiting for,” said Domino’s Pizza Malaysia and Singapore president Ba U Shan-Ting.

He said the American company, which prides itself for its hand-tossed pizzas, decided to introduce a new addition in hopes to appeal to a larger market.

The Cheesy Pan Crust will be joining the existing list of pizza crusts such as the Classic Hand Tossed, New York Crust, Crunchy Thin, Cheese Burst Double Decker and the Extreme Edge.

“We took a bit of time as we wanted to understand what our customers liked and didn’t like,” said Ba, adding that a recipe was then created to suit the local taste, hence the slogan, Pan Done Right.

In Malaysia, the pan pizza sold at Domino’s may not taste the same as those sold in other countries, said Ba during the launch of its 105th store in Subang Perdana, Shah Alam recently.

The Domino’s Cheesy Pan Pizza comes with a three-cheese blend of Mozzarella, Cheddar and Parmesan.

It is also 40% cheesier than other pan pizzas and has a light buttery crust.

Ba said the pizza has been available in the market since late November and feedback has been encouraging.

At present, the Cheesy Pan Pizza is only available in the regular 9-inch pan. However, Ba said Domino’s was looking into introducing larger sizes soon.

Customers can choose from any of Domino’s 24 specialty pizza flavours to go with the cheesy pan pizza crust.

There will be a surcharge of RM5 per pizza. However, for a limited time, patrons can enjoy it with just a RM3 surcharge.
