Naroden: State needs to beef up manufacturing abilities to reduce import dependence


MIRI: Sarawak needs to reduce the import of essential foodstuff and consumer goods.

Assistant Bumiputra Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais noted that the state had to spend billions of ringgit every year to import products such as cheese, butter, beef and other meat, rice, textile, household items and even cosmetics due to the lack of skills to produce these en masse in the state.
