FOR more than 50 years, D. Mariappan, 72, and his wife M. Muniama, 64, have been catching mud crabs at the mangroves in Balik Pulau, Penang.
The couple, who live in Kuala Jalan Baharu, have been going to the mangroves daily and the mud crabs are their sole source of income.
