A GROUP of parents and school staff, concerned about the safety of pupils of SJK (C) Naam Kheung, Kuala Lumpur, recently held a protest against the commencement of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction in front of the school’s main entrance earlier than the agreed upon time.
Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman Lim Joo Kiat said the school had reached an agreement with MRT chief executive officer Datuk Azhar Hamid on May 23 that the construction would only start during the year-end school holidays but were shocked to receive a notice stating that it would begin on Aug 6 instead.
