Using sports to spread message on zakat

THE Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ-MAIWP) is spreading the message on the importance of paying zakat (tithe) through sporting events.

“While the players socialise through healthy competitive sports, we also take the opportunity to tell them about their responsibility as Muslims to pay zakat,” said operations general manager Mohamed Hassan during the prize presentation ceremony of the Ukhuwah Social Sepaktakraw Championships at the Universiti Malaya gymnasium recently.
