TO HELP preserve Batu Caves, environmental NGOs are calling for the setting up of a permanent management committee to oversee the development and conservation of the limestone caves that are 400 million years old.
The concerned groups said while the religious and cultural sensitivities of devotees must be respected, public safety and conservation of the environment must be given importance before any future development around Batu Caves was carried out.
