Sharp rise in dengue cases


JOHOR BARU: The number of dengue cases in the state has seen a sharp rise as the figures for the first six months of this year have surpassed the whole of last year’s.

State Health Department deputy director (Public Health) Dr Fatimah Othman said that deaths between January and June stood at seven while there was only one fatality in 2012.
