GE13: Baram community supports Baram hydro project, says Jabu

KUCHING: The state government is conscious of the need for environmental impact assessment (EIA) and all tropical protocols, a valid reason for the community in Baram to pledge their support for the proposed Baram hydroelectricity dam.

Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu said the various Orang Ulu associations and community leaders supported the project because they knew that HEP generation involved a system, which was in compliance with a sustainable and environmental-friendly concept besides incorporating bio-technological advancement.
