IT WAS on the first day of Chinese New Year that the email came. It read, “Dear friends and esteemed business contacts. We regret to inform that our company will be ceasing operations.” It came from a fellow entrepreneur friend of mine, who together with his wife had blazed the trail two years before me in the journey of entrepreneurship.
Knowing how passionate he was about his business, and with all the hard work the couple had put in, I wondered what happened. Not to mention, it is often hard for a company’s founder to just let go of their business and walk away. I was terribly curious and decided to call him to query on the reason behind that email.
