MIRI: The coastline here will undergo a major facelift soon.
A 24-storey hotel, an 18-storey residential suite and 10 units of three-storey shophouse with a total gross development value of RM400mil are to be built at the Miri Waterfront.
The project is a joint effort between developer Unique Harvests Sdn Bhd and contractor Sara-Timur Sdn Bhd.
A deal was inked by Unique Har-vests managing director Datuk Hii Chang Pee and his Sara-Timur counterpart John Loi Hieng Yee here yesterday. Unique Harvests project director Alice Hu Yun Bin said the mega project would complement the city’s reputation as one of the country’s robust growth areas.
“The construction work for the entire development will take place concurrently, and both high rise buildings will go up at the same. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in two-and-a-half years, with completion anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2015,” said Hu.
“Earlier last month, we launched the sales for one of the components of the project — the 18-storey private strata titled suites called the Wharf. The Wharf is a 99-year leasehold 192-unit private development encompassing all 2+1 bedroom units from the sixth floor onwards, and offers modern lifestyle facilities on the fifth floor such as swimming pool, the very first Sky Garden in Miri, gym, aerobics room, multipurpose hall, pool deck, BBQ pits and many more.”
The suites will be semi- or fully furnished and are priced between RM800,000 and RM1mil depending on location and furnishing.
The hotel consists of 328 rooms and suites, and will include facilities such as a ballroom with a seating for up to 1,000 people, six other function rooms, all with modern meeting facilities, an infinity pool with pool deck and children’s pool, a spa with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, gym and aerobics, F&B outlets, including coffee house with a modern open buffet concept and executive lounge on the 24th floor.
“The design of the hotel is modern and contemporary, whereby the fo-cus is not only on luxury but also the comfort of guests. On the name and brand of the luxury hotel, the management has received various local and international management offers and is currently still reviewing the va-rious options which will be announced at a later date,” explained Yu.
