JOHOR BARU: The Johor Customs Department had thwarted an attempt to smuggle in 2.89mil sticks of clove cigarettes valued at RM1.52mil after detaining a lorry along Jalan Lingkaran Dalam, here.
Its director Datuk Ramli Johari said the lorry was detained after the driver did not stop the vehicle for routine checks at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex here on Feb 22 at around 2.20pm.
