CARSLBERG Malaysia recently hosted a dinner with former world tennis No.1 Caroline Wozniacki at Marini’s on 57 in KLCC.

The event was organised to celebrate the involvement of Kornenbourg 1664 — Carlsberg’s premium brand — in the BMW Malaysian Open for the third consecutive year.

Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Soren Ravn said the dinner brought together two of Denmark’s finest — Carslberg and Wozniacki.

“Carlsberg Malaysia prides itself on being one of the world’s most dynamic brewers.

“Tonight, we celebrate our values by bringing together Denmark’s finest,” Ravn said.

The 22-year-old Wozniacki, who is currently ranked tenth on the WTA Tour, is well-known for her two-handed backhand, which is capable of turning a defensive shot into a weapon.

She was also the first Scandinavian woman to reach the top spot on the WTA Tour rankings.

“I am delighted to be here tonight and to be part of this very special evening.

“Being exposed to different cultures has always been my favourite part of touring to different countries.

“Sharing this moment with an established brand and fellow Danish icon like Carlsberg is a great opportunity and I am truly honoured,” Wozniacki said.

As guests mingled throughout the night, they enjoyed the fresh tastes of Carlsberg Green Label as well as Kronenbourg 1664 lager and blanc.

Among the guests were beauty queens Chermaine Poo and Chloe Chen.

The cocktail session ended with a special loh sang session with Wozniacki and the senior management of Carlsberg Malaysia.
