Grand Dorsett Subang, in collaboration with the Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara, recently played host to 30 underprivileged children at a Gong Xi Fa Cai celebration.

As part of Grand Dorsett Subang’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, hotel associates and representatives of Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara came together to spend time with children and caregivers from Rumah Jaireh and Yayasan Sunbeams.

“As Chinese New Year is about bringing families together, it really gives all of us great pleasure to share the joy with these children as we welcome them as part of our family,” said Dorsett Hospitality International vice-chairman Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng.

In addition to an enjoyable luncheon, the children participated in several fun-filled activities, including cultural performances, magic show, colouring activities and the tossing of yee sang.

The children also received ang pow from the management team of Grand Dorsett Subang.

As a non-governmental organisation, the Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara has been consistently organising activities and events over the last decade to serve the needs of underprivileged children throughout the country.

These include supporting welfare homes and contributing to the development of children with disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome and autism as well as those who are hearing impaired.

Jasmine, who is also former president of the Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara, said: “In recent years, Grand Dorsett Subang has consistently been doing its part for the communities around us, particularly for the less fortunate children who will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
