MEF chief to give talk on minimum wage

THE Malaysia Society for Labour & Social Security Law (MSLSSL) is organising a talk for members on minimum wage on March 5 at 5pm at the Royal Selangor Club Ballroom at Dataran Merdeka.

The talk on Minimum Wages: Issues on Implementation will be presented by Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) executive director Shamsuddin Bardan.

Shamsuddin, who has been MEF executive director since 2000, is also a board member of the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), NIOSH Certification Sdn Bhd, and a member of the National Labour Advisory Council.

The Universiti Malaya law graduate is one of the employers’ representatives in the National Wages Consultative Council (NWCC) under the Human Resources Ministry.

An Adjunct Professor at Management and Science University (MSU) since 2010, at the international level, Shamsuddin has also been the secretary-general of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Employers since June 2010 and the representative for Malaysian employers at the International Labour Conference.
