THE sum of RM1,000 may not be much but to recipients of the 1Malaysia Contribution for Veterans Without Pension scheme (SVTB1M) but the amount was timely aid and proof of the Government’s recognition of their sacrifices.
Umar Yun, who served in the army from 1969 to 1981, said the one-off aid served to lessen the burden of those without a source of income, especially those with families to provide for.
