PARENTS should encourage their children with intellectual disabilities (ID) to play sports to help them be sociable, creative and fit when they grow up.
According to sports science educator Nagoor Meera Abdullah, who has more than 15 years experience in coaching athletes with various disabilities, parents play a key role in ensuring that their children’s minds are active through sports.
