MLTA to boost sports tourism and make Malacca an international tennis centre

MALACCA: The Malacca Lawn Tennis Association’s (MLTA) hosting of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior (Under 18) International in late February and the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Under 14 championships in June for both boys and girls singles and doubles events, would spell a further boost to local sports tourism industry now that the Malacca government and agencies have got onto the scene.

For starters, all eight outer courts and the lone centre court seating gallery-styled facility at the Malacca Tennis Complex in Ayer Keroh will be resurfaced courtesy of the Melaka Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council while the local Tourism Board will also get into handling the promotion works.
