JOHOR BARU: Pengerang and Yong Peng will soon be made into separate police districts due to major development and an increase in population in the state, said Johor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff.
There are currently 13 police districts in Johor and Pengerang and Yong Peng fall under the Kota Tinggi and Batu Pahat districts respectively, he said, adding that the new police districts were part of efforts to combat crime.
