United fight against peat fires

MIRI: The country’s environmental authorities have made a commitment to work as hard as possible to prevent a repeat of the peat fires in Kuala Baram district along the Sarawak-Brunei border that causes the annual transboundary haze.

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah yesterday met with Brunei Minister for Development, Datuk Seri Awang Suyoi Osman, at Kuala Baram district (on Sarawak side) to look at the various measures being put in place for dealing with the annual forest fires in the region.
